Happo-One Nature Research Road
The nature of Hakuba is really magnificent! Take a couple of chair lifts to the summer mountain, and you will see a large wet-lands and a beautiful flower garden. You may even encounter unusual animals such as ptarmigans. The road is a treasure house of alpine plants. Three major mountains (Shiroumadake, Shakushidake, Yarigatake) are reflected in Happoike Pond, which images are breathtakingly beautiful.
5 min. bus ride from Hakuba Station. Take a bus going to Happo or to sarukura, get off at Happo. Walk for 10 minutes to Adam Happo Station to ropeway. Take an Alpine Pair Lift from Happo Station to Kurobishi-daira. Take a Roman Lift there to the First Cairn. It is a 2 1/2-hour round trip.
