Torigin Honten (Main Store)

You can eat various cochin dishes like yakitori, stewed cochin with noodles, and cochin cooked with rice. The cochin chicken is so fresh that you can even eat it raw, like sashimi.

Ibashou

The Hitsumabushi is a famous Nagoya dish. Cooked eel and thinly cut laver are placed on rice contained in a tub. You can also take one serving of rice to a smaller bowl and eat it with negi sliced leek, Japanese horse radish, and hot water.

Miyoshiya

This restaurant, established in 1899, serves hand-made flat Japanese noodles. It uses high-quality 100% pure flour for its noodles. Its noodle is thin and narrowly cut and is dipped in fish-flavored light soy sauce. Its zarukishi is very tasty.

Kitafuku Sohonke, House of the Original Moriguchi Pickles

Moriguchi pickles are made by pickling the famous Moriguchi radish in sake kasu (rice grain) and mirin (sweet sake). It can eat it only with rice, without any other flavorings. Besides pickled radish, there are pickled eggplants, melon, and cucumbers.

Regardless of the season, you can always eat the hot miso stewed noodles here. Hattcho and shiro (white), different types of miso, are blended to make the soup for the noodles.

Yabaton

This store is famous for its miso katsu (pork fritter in bean paste). The miso waraji tonkatsu is very popular because of the size of the pork, as big as the sole of your foot. The famous Okazaki hattcho miso flavored with pork stock and a secret spice is pasted around the pork, which is then frittered.

Ohsu Uiro

This shop is located near the Ohsu Kannon temple. It serves simple uiro (melon) dishes. Another popular dessert is nairo, which is uiro wrapped in sweet bean paste. Assortments of the two items, one sweet and the other not, are suitable as gifts, since they are in bite-size.

Cafe Zakkaya
