Romanetto Okaya, a place to refresh your mind and body

This spa facility takes advantage of the Okaya hot spring that flows from the lakeshore of Lake Suwa-ko. The spa features a German-style bath with a jet stream installed on the inner-wall of the pool, a Roman-style bath of natural hot spring water, an herbal scented sauna, and other relaxing facilities.
Roman-style bath only 500 yen, for use of all the facilities 800 yen / Open 10 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. (last entry 10 p.m.), closed Thursdays Morning rate 200 yen, 5:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. (last entry 8:30 a.m.)

Kamaguchi Suimon Gate is surrounded by a number of eel restaurants

Water from Lake Suwa-ko passes through Kamaguchi Suimon Gate into the Pacific Ocean through Tenryu-gawa River. The gate area is enclosed by Okaya Lakeside Park that features a statue, monument, and a music box of the Okaya-born songwriter Oguchi Taro. Also in the area are several eel restaurants frequented by the local people.

Suimon Gate

Historic Residence of the Watanabe Family: a treasure asset of the prefecture

This home once belonged to a warrior-class family who worked under the Takashima clan. Being one of Japan's few existing buildings of its kind, this residence has been recognized as an official treasure of the prefecture. It is said to have been built in the mid 18th century and renovated in the 19th century. This home produced three Cabinet members and exhibits references regarding the gentlemen as well.

Historic Residence of the Hayashi Family (the House of the Silk Company Owner)

This home once belonged to the owner of a silk manufacturing business during the height of the industry. It represents Japan's contemporary architecture and is carefully maintained as one of the nation's important cultural assets. The historic house features a room with special gold paper walls. For a tour of the home, please send a postcard (contact the number below for details).

Hot Spring Station
