Torii-daira Yamabiko Park
A family-oriented park situated on a massive plateau 1,000 meters above sea level. The park is comprised of a summer bob-sleigh course that stretches 621 meters through the woods, a roller skating rink, tennis courts, flower viewing area, observation area and a lavender field. Pack some lunch, and you can have a fun-filled day at the park.
No admission fee (there are different rates for the use of facilities) / Open 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., facilities requiring fees are closed on Tuesdays

Enrei Onodachi Park and the Bird Bus
Located at Shiojiri Pass where the cities of Shiojiri and Okaya meet, this park is made up of camp grounds, an athletic field, a rest area, and an observation deck overlooking a breathtaking view of Lake Suwa-ko, Mt. Yatsugatake, Mt. Fuji, and the Japan Alps. Up to 50 kinds of wild birds live in this park which is also known as the Bird Grove. A bird bus runs every Sunday in May and June as many visitors enjoy the sight and sounds of the pretty birds.
Bus fares for adults are 1,000 yen from Kami-suwa, 800 yen from Shimo-suwa or Okaya. Half for children.
