Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route extends from Omachi ( Nagano Prefecture) to Tateyama-machi ( Toyama Prefecture) through the peaks of the Ushiro-tateyama and Tateyama. It is an internationally well known, 3,000 meter ridge mountain route. During the course from Ougisawa on the Nagano side to Murodo on the Toyama side, trolley bus and cable car will take you to a wonderful excursion to life in the great outdoors.
Kurobe Dam, which is 1,470 meters above sea level, and its peripheral area on the way is the highlight of the Alpine route. The arch shaped dome of the dam with a dynamic splash of water is really breathtaking. You can see glacial geographical feature of the Tateyama Peaks from an excursion boat in Lake Kurobe-ko.
Also taking a walk on the walking path adds to the selection of pleasure experiences. Everything you see would fascinate you. It is strongly recommended that you don't waste your time and energy by just transferring from one type of transportation to another. Tie your shoes tightly and take your time to enjoy the scenery.
