Serizawa Keisuke Art Museum

Some patterned dyed pieces of work by Serizawa Keisuke, who was a dyeing artist and living national treasure, are displayed. This collection consists of 600 pieces of his work including a multi-colored kimono (traditional Japanese attire), folding screens, and a kind of curtain which is hung at the door, and 4,500 pieces of world folk crafts.

Serizawa

Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art

The museum is situated at the foot of Nihon-daira plateau. They display both traditional Japanese paintings centered around natural landscape and some Western paintings after the 17th century. In the Rodin annex, more than thirty sculptures by Rodin are exhibited.

Shizuoka Museum

Shizuoka Museum of Cultural Assets

The materials related to the battle warriors such as the Imagawa and the Takeda, may give a clue about the history of Shizuoka. Also exhibited are a belly band and armor, worn by Tokugawa Ieyasu when he celebrated his coming of age.

Toro Museum

The farming tools excavated at the Toro remains are displayed, presenting the life style from the Jomon period (circa 10,000 B.C. - circa 300 B.C.) through the present day. Visitors can experience rice threshing using replicas of those excavated earthenware.

Kuno-zan Tosho-gu Museum

Two thousand items including armor and swords, used by successive Tokugawa Shogun, as well as paintings are kept in this museum. It also contains a clock and reading glasses made in Spain, which were favored and used habitually by Ieyasu.

Sunpu Museum

In this museum, 180 paintings by Yokoyama Taikan and Watanabe Kazan, as well as 370 works including calligraphy by Katsu Kaishu and Yamaoka Tesshu are maintained.
