Hokkaido Heso Matsuri (Naval Festival) July 28 -29
About 3,000 people walk and dance around in the Furano-shi festival called "Hokkai Heso-odori Taikai". This festival is the most popular. The people who participate in it wear bamboo hats and draw their favorite faces on their own stomachs.
Furano Wine Budo Matsuri (Wine Grape festival) mid September
People gather together for celebrating their thanksgiving. Under the blue sky, you can eat and drink Furano's specialties such as beef, cheese, wine, grape juice and milk.
Ski Matsuri (ski festival) mid February
This is a festival to help the residents cope with Hokkaido's severe winters. There are many activities: Ningen banba, skiing competition, faire storm and radar show.
