Hokkigai Clams Tomakomai has the highest gathering rate of these clams. Being fresh, thick and tender hokkigai is best when served raw, but you can also try them deep fried, sauted in butter, mixed with rice or in curry sauce. The canned clams are convenient for cooking.

Hascap (Hokkaido Blueberry) Products Hascap trees can be found in the Yuufutsu Plains. These trees mature to about 1 meter tall and grow fruit similar to blueberries but slightly larger. There are many different hascap products, preserves and gelatin-based sweets to name a few. They all are Tomakomai specialties (please refer to Main Street). You can buy fresh hascap at fruit stands in the city.
