Ningyo-yaki (doll-shaped sweet pancakes)
Shigemori Eishin-do
This sweet shop opened here in October, 1917, and has been quite famous for its ningyo-yaki. After visiting Suiten-gu Shrine, many people stop by and purchase their ningyo-yaki as a souvenir. The ningyo-yaki is not too sweet and the combination of the soft sponge cake and the semi-sweet bean jam filling are exquisite. You can choose your favorite type from no bean jam, mash bean jam or grain bean jam. 110 yen for a pancake with bean jam. 600 yen for the 24 pancakes without any bean jam.
