Suiten-gu Shrine Reitaisai Festival (May 5)

Although the Suiten-gu Shrine holds a festival every 5th of the month, the May 5th festival being the biggest one. This festival includes carrying a children's anchor-shaped mikoshi (a portable shrine) and a kappa mikoshi (a water imp) for water safety and the playing of kagura (sacred music and dance).

Setomono-ichi (ceramics market in mid-August)

Setomono-ichi was started in 1953 by the wholesale stores in both towns, Kakigara-cho and Hama-cho. There are about 50 open-air shops along side of Ningyocho Street, and you can find inexpensive prices for good ceramics.

Doburoku Matsuri Festival (end of November)

This festival is for the thanks giving in the autumn season which is held at the Koami- jinja Shrine. Doburoku (a Japanese sake) will be served to the audience. The shrine also holds the sacred dance on the premises.
