Ise Cotton

Ise cotton was bought as gifts by pilgrims visiting the Ise Jingu during the Yedo period. It became a major industry of this area under the warlord Todo Takatora and is still being manufactured by the ancient process of dying each thread. This cotton is known for its softness.

Kounago and Other Dried Sea Products

The sea products taken from the Ise Bay are dried in the traditional manner. These products known as kounago or Ise niboshi are a delicacy. It brings the aroma of the sea to the dining table. These products are also abundant in calcium and make an important health food.
