The Ohmi (Shiga Prefecture) rice grown in Yasu's fertile soil produces delicious sake. Different brands such as Tamano-haru, Kiccho, Ohmi-fuji, and Akatsuki, are made from Ohmi rice. It has fans nationwide.

Mahoroba Pickles

These pickles are handmade in the old-fashioned way. Cucumbers and radish are pickled in naturally distilled soy sauce, miso beans, red pepper, and Chinese spices. Their simple taste is very nostalgic.
