A Genbikei specialty nicknamed the Flying Dango (dumplings). Place your 300 yen on a basket hanging from a cable and hit the wooden plaque. The cable will move the basket to the store at the other side of the river and will return with tea and dango which is served with sweet bean paste, sesame or in soysauce.

A full-course mochi(rice cake) dinner is available at this restaurant. Sekinoichi Winery, the chief sake producer in Ichinoseki, renovated its boiler and wash area into a restaurant. Special dishes prepared with Sekinoichi's wine are featured in their menu. A portion of the cellar is supported by trusses and has been turned into a sake folk museum.

A brick warehouse turned into a jazz cafe, Basie takes pride in its excellent accoustics. Many famous musicians have performed live at the cafe. Basie is well-known among jazz fanatics as well as patrons drawn by the cafe owner's personality.
